ESCAPE ROOM HOLIDAY PARTIES: A BRIEF GUIDE
Are you looking for something fun and unique to do for your holiday party this year? Well, look no further than an escape room! Escape rooms are perfect for groups of all sizes and can be tailored to fit any theme or occasion. Here are a few tips on how to make your escape room holiday party a success:
Choosing a game for your escape room holiday party
1. Choose the right escape room. There are tons of different escape rooms to choose from, so it’s important to pick one that will be a good fit for your group. If you have a lot of people, make sure to choose an escape room with a capacity that can accommodate large groups.
At Clue Chase, we have one of the largest escape room venues in NYC – so there’s plenty of space for groups of all sizes! And if you’re looking for a specific theme, we’ve got four awesome options to choose from! These are “Pirates of the Bermuda Triangle”, “Houdini’s Workshop”, “Guardian of Gotham” and “Moonshine Madness”. Each game has a gorgeous set, and an elaborate gauntlet of puzzles to solve, you’re sure to have an unforgettable adventure!

Clue Chase is the perfect place to host your event. Whether it’s a corporate outing, a bachelor/bachelorette party, or a birthday party, Clue Chase will work to make your event the best it can be. With some of the highest rated escape rooms in NYC spread over 4,000 square feet, Clue Chase has the quantity and the quality to match.[/caption]
Each room is a one-of-a-kind experience, uniquely playable at Clue Chase NYC, and nowhere else. Our games are available in a variety of difficulties – and our expert game masters will gladly further tune your experience to match your desired difficulty level by adjusting how we clue you throughout your event.
2. Make sure everyone is on the same page. Before you start your escape room adventure, it’s important to make sure everyone knows the rules and understands how the game works. This will help ensure that everyone has a fun and successful experience.
Of course, we do provide a fun and informative introduction before your game to help everyone on your team get into the spirit of the game and go in feeling at least a bit prepared – but it never hurts to prep a little beforehand!
Unless it’s a surprise, making sure everyone in your holiday party knows that you’re going to an escape room, and what an escape room is, will help ensure that they have the best possible escape room experience!
Plus, communication in escape rooms is incredibly important – so starting to practice that a little early can’t hurt.
Some tips for holding successful holiday parties in escape rooms

3. Work together as a team. Remember that part of this blog post, about one sentence ago, where we talked about communication? Good times. Well, we’re going into that in more detail! Escape rooms are all about teamwork!
Make sure to communicate with your team and come up with a strategy before you start solving the puzzles. And if you’re stuck on a puzzle, don’t be afraid to ask for help from your teammates. This is incredibly important!
The most successful teams we see will often coordinate a single spot in the room where they gather all the puzzles/puzzle pieces they have finished using together so that no one can get distracted by something that is no longer relevant to your game.
Another commonality of good team-building groups is sharing of information. If you find something that looks like it may be a part of something else, speak up! Don’t keep knowledge locked away in your head, share what you’re noticing with your teammates.
They’ve likely noticed something else that, when combined with your item, will allow you to solve something! If you aren’t communicating in your escape game, you’re wasting time.
4. Have fun! Escape rooms are supposed to be fun, so make sure to relax and enjoy yourself. If you’re feeling stressed, take a break and maybe try to find another puzzle to work on. Or go to one of your friends and see if you can help them with whatever they’re working on!
You have 60 minutes in escape games, so you don’t need to rush. All of our games are designed to be beat within that hour’s time limit, so as long as you stay focused and methodical, you’ve got this! One hour may seem like a lot of time, but you might be surprised how quickly a game where you’re made to solve puzzles can go.
Following these tips, your escape room party is sure to be a success! And if you’re looking for the perfect place to host your party, check out our escape rooms in NYC!
