Things To Do In NYC In 2021
Planning a trip to NYC and wondering what you’ll be able to do this summer? Fear not! Clue Chase’s fearless staff have prepared a list of some of our favorite city activities. So whether it’s before, or after, you play an escape room game at Clue Chase, we’ve got something for you. (Hopefully).
- Shakespeare in the Park – It was canceled in 2020, but now the renowned tradition is back. They’ll be performing an adaptation of the Merry Wives of Windsor, set in Harlem and focusing on a group of West African immigrants. The show runs July 6th to August 29th, a full schedule and ticketing information will be available from the Public Theater in the next couple weeks.
- Rooftop bars – Brooklyn and Manhattan are known for being a bit “crunched for space” so to speak. Apartments the size of closets, and cramped interiors for stores and restaurants. One thing NYC isn’t lacking in? Rooftops. Many bars and restaurants expand their service up to their rooftop, where you can often find unique lighting and garden setups, along with drinking and dining. For unique views, atmosphere, and a covid-free atmosphere, rooftop dining can’t be beat. (Unless it’s raining, then it can be beat).
- Eat indoors! New York City has some of the finest and most varied dining in the world. And now we’re allowed to sit down inside to enjoy it, like nature intended.
- Staten Island Ferry – Listen, we don’t really like to acknowledge Staten Island, but the ferry is free, and they sell beer on board. The views are great, and the cool breeze off the water smells better than midtown. Which really isn’t difficult.
- Cross the Brooklyn Bridge – Listen, if you aren’t local to the city, you need to experience this stressful/crowded bridge crossing experience at least once to learn why most locals avoid it, even though the views really are spectacular. Highly recommended.
- Attend a block party – There are block parties held all over the city. Don’t have a block to call your own? The Brooklyn Museum will be hosting parties on their block every Saturday throughout the summer, featuring DJs, art, and local vendors – it’ll be an experience worth checking out. More details on the Brooklyn Museum’s website.
- Go to the Zoo – The Bronx Zoo is a pretty great zoo. We’re not sure what else to say, because everyone knows about Zoos already. If you like zoos, the Bronx Zoo is one of those. Give it a shot!
We hope this list has been helpful, or at least mildly informative. And remember, for all your escape room needs in NYC, Clue Chase has your back.
Until Next time,
